Shrimps in Mustard-Lemon Sauce

“Hello Twitter, this is Villy. It only took me a century to get to know you. But here I am”.

So, yeah, I now have a Twitter account. If you are interested to connect the username is @VillyMP 🙂

Let’s move to the food!

This post is about shrimps. Again. We like them. And this is a recipe I learned from my mother-in-law (another awesome cook of the family!)!

Did I say they are delicious? No?

Well, they are!

The ingredients are simple and few.

For the sauce: Lemons, yellow mustard, fresh parsley and olive oil.

And of course the shrimps. I kept mine with their shells because I enjoy having the sauce trapped inside and make a mess while eating them.

Place the shrimps in a frying pan, without any oil, and let them cook. There will be some water coming out from the shells (especially if frozen). This will help them cook.

In the meantime prepare the sauce. Add the parsley, lemon juice, olive oil and some salt in the food processor. Mix until you have a smooth sauce.

When the shrimps are cooked (not transparent – I usually cook them until the water is gone) add the sauce and stir until they are covered.

Cook only until the sauce heats through.

Done and ready to be served!

Don’t tell me this is not easy to make!

Have a nice day!

INGREDIENTS

Serves 3

500g fresh or frozen shrimps

Juice of 1 lemon

2 tbsp yellow mustard

A handful of fresh parsley

½ cup olive oil

Salt to taste

Oh thanks, always so kind! When I first heard the ingredients I was a bit skeptical. But after trying it I was impressed! It also works really well with peeled shrimp.

Sometimes simple is best and that’s especially true with these shrimp. Lemon and mustard is a good combo and using them to dress shrimp would be delicious.
