Hamburger with Caramelized Onions and Oven “Fried” Potatoes – {Plus the View from my Window}

A few days ago I posted a photo of the burger and potatoes I prepared for football night.

When I took the photo I had not tasted the burger or the potatoes yet.

But then I did. And it was SO good. We devoured the whole thing long before the first 15min of the game had passed…

And then we continued watching, wishing we had more.

Football Food!

The EURO 2012 Final is currently on between Spain and Italy.

And a thrilling football event like that had to be watched while eating “football food” as Pan said.

So I made that:

Homemade: Burgers, caramelized onions, “fried”-style potatoes in the oven.

Greek-style burgers (Biftekia)

These burgers are one of the first dishes I learned how to prepare, and it’s one of our favorites!

In Greece we use minced meat in several different ways, and I’m planning to post several of them (because they are delicious 🙂 ). We call this particular preparation biftekia (μπιφτέκια), and most often you can find them grilled.

They can be prepared using either minced beef or mixed pork and beef. I used only beef here because I prefer it, but I have tried the combination before and it works nicely as well.
