Stuffed Cabbage Leaves {in Egg-Lemon Sauce}

Or lahanodolmades as we call them in Greek!

This is a delicious dish, albeit slightly time-consuming. Certainly not your after-work dinner. But definitely your weekend lunch!

The cabbage leaves are stuffed with ground meat and rice and served in avgolemono, an egg-lemon sauce used in several different dishes in Greece, including many soups.

Hamburger with Caramelized Onions and Oven “Fried” Potatoes – {Plus the View from my Window}

Soutzoukakia {Meatballs with Cumin, in Tomato Sauce}

Usually, I’m posting recipes from a back-up.

I simply do not have the required time to cook or bake every day. My real job is happening. And then, my 3-4h of eat-clean-rest-sleep are happening.

Anywayyyy, the thing is: Today I’m posting live! Like, I’m actually writing this before the final photos are shot! The food is cooked in the pot, steaming, waiting to be devoured by a satisfied couple. 🙂

And what did I cook? Soutzoukakia! AKA beef meatballs with generous amount of cumin, served in tomato sauce. The recipe varies a bit from the hard-core traditional you can find in the web, but that’s the variation my mother taught me. And we like it!

So, the photo will go here:

Take my word for it: Delicious!

Greek-style burgers (Biftekia)

These burgers are one of the first dishes I learned how to prepare, and it’s one of our favorites!

In Greece we use minced meat in several different ways, and I’m planning to post several of them (because they are delicious 🙂 ). We call this particular preparation biftekia (μπιφτέκια), and most often you can find them grilled.

They can be prepared using either minced beef or mixed pork and beef. I used only beef here because I prefer it, but I have tried the combination before and it works nicely as well.
