The cookie monsters are back!
And this is very true, considering the time a batch of cookies lasted in our home: 3 days. 2 people.
Testament to how awesome they were!
This was the first time I tried browning the butter. I was always thinking that it cannot make such a big difference. Boy, was I wrong!
It definitely makes a difference! The taste and smell are incredible!
It’s Christmas tiiiiiiiiiime!! CHRISTMAAAAS!!
I cannot begin to describe how excited I am during this season! My joy is ridiculous!!
To top that joy I made melomakarona! Sounds Greek to you? Well, it is!
Melomakarona are traditional Christmas cake-like cookies, wonderfully spiced and soaked in a honey-based syrup. They are sweet, delicious and addictive!
You will not find a house without melomakarona during the holidays!
Plus, in case you are interested, they are dairy-free!
It seems (and probably is) like ages since my previous post, but we had a loooong (one “o” per day-off) weekend and we visited family in Switzerland. 🙂
But as I said in the previous post, we have whoopie pies today!
I only tried whoopie pies for the first time this year and I fell in love. This dessert has everything I like: you bite into soft cookie to reach a thick creamy frosting. Swoon.
Also, for the first time, I made caramel all by myself!
Diamonds are forever, forever, forever… ♫
Or are they?…
Well, I tell you, these ones lasted one working day:
My labmates really enjoyed them, and this is always a good sign!
This was the first dessert I baked coming from my amazing America’s Test Kitchen Family Baking Book, and I was not disappointed.
The cookie has a scrumptious buttery taste, while the chocolate-hazelnut combination is simply perfect!
I’m sensing there will be plenty of baking from this book! But let’s start with these chocolate diamond cookies!
Did I drop out of fasting? No. Are these cookies fasting-appropriate? No.
Do I have back-up of recipes? Yeah… 😉
I loooove baking cookies guys! Especially when the result is soft, chewy, and oozing chocolate goodness! I mean, this is how it should be, no??
Let’s start baking then!
